In 1983, after graduating from high school, Rafael Alvarez moved to New York and enrolled at the City College of New York. While attending City College, he opened his first business named Alvarez Income Tax Center.

Rafael’s success and recognition in the area of tax preparation came through his well developed expertise in the tax industry. In 1986 while attending City College, Rafael founded AlvarezTax and soon this company became a recognized name in the tax business marketplace. AlvarezTax has been a very successful business and it has a proven track record of high quality costumer services and consistent financial growth. In 2007, Rafael created AlvarezTax Franchise which allows replication of the successful business concept developed and refined in the last twenty three years.
