My name is Diana Sabari, I am originally from the Dominican Republic. I came to this country when I was 13 years old. I’ve always had an interest in business, numbers and loved working with people, so I knew from a very young age accounting was going to be my career. As soon as I graduated high school I pursued my studies in business administration at BMCC and finished my bachelor’s degree in accounting at Hunter College. After volunteering for VITA, I knew that tax accounting was the area of accounting I wanted to focus on because I was able to combine my love for numbers and my passion for helping people in one. Growing up, I had to help my mom with her tax and legal documents, so I know first hand how important it is to have someone you trust, and someone that can genuinely help you no matter what. After a few years of working independently and volunteering, I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge in the tax world and started working at an ATAX office where I gained more experience. A year later I pursued one of my dreams and opened my own business, my very own ATAX office. A place where I can make a difference and constantly help others no matter their background.
