Is Your Health Coverage Considered Qualifying Coverage under the ACA

The Affordable Care Act requires you and every member of your family to (1) have qualifying health care coverage, (2) qualify for an exemption from the responsibility to have minimum essential coverage or (3) make an individual shared responsibility payment when you file your federal income tax return each year.

  • Individual market plans
  • Grandfathered health plans
  • Government-sponsored programs
  • Employer-sponsored plans
